Nineteen of the Russian's 21 titles have been earned on hard surfaces
A resurgent Medvedev claimed his maiden title for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The athlete, a former number one, has endured a torrid year, managing just one match at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serving in specific - led to him dropping out of the top ten and finally parting ways with long-term mentor his previous coach.
Currently collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily improved in the recent weeks - peaking in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over Frenchman Moutet.
It is Medvedev's maiden title after the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt after spring of 2023.
The win also indicates the Russian has secured 21 victories at twenty-one distinct events.
"It's the first time I have attended a event with my children together, so to secure a championship is really nice," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his last six title deciders, including in that event earlier this year.
The player's defensive play style and regular outbursts on court had led observers to question if his capacity to play at the highest level was over.
But the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, striving to advance forward and play positively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.
The champion fought back from a deficit in the first set against the challenging opponent, winning four of the last five exchanges to go ahead.
The pair exchanged break points in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden professional title, took control to create a third set.
Moutet rescued four initial opportunities in a tight third set before the champion won the break to 15 to close out the victory.
Appropriately, the winner secured victory with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
